Our community organization is named the Rio Grande Valley Pollinator Project. Our mission is to raise awareness across the Rio Grande Valley of pollinators and their need for sustainable, native-plant food sources and ecosystems so they can thrive and multiply.

Some of our activities have included successful grants from Monarch Watch for native milkweed; assisting efforts in city gardens, working with city officials to bring more awareness about the use of native plants; relocation of native Zizote milkweed and plants from areas designated for development,  to community gardens in the same area; connecting residents with native plant information and sources.

The group welcomes anyone with a similar interest and meets on the 3rd Monday of each month to plan and collaborate on current and future projects.  Outreach events have enabled us to share our passion for improving the pollinator habitat across the valley, not just for native pollinators but also for migratory species.  We are a non-profit organization and welcome support from our community partners. Our vision includes obtaining a greenhouse to grow more native milkweed and pollinator plants.
