The purpose of this scholarship is to establish a working group of volunteers for their edification and the continued maintenance of the established Ebony Loop Specialty Gardens for public viewing.

The Dick Roesler Memorial Scholarship Fund. Any applicant willing to make a difference at Ramsey Park is eligible to apply for this scholarship.  Those who do apply are expected to:  

1. Have read the requirements of the Dick Roesler Scholarship and be willing to honor them. 
2. Have an intense interest and willingness to learn about native plants.
3. Work with the Thursday Morning Ebony Loop Volunteer Team during the training period as often as possible.
4. Become a permanent member of the Thursday Morning Ebony Loop Volunteer Team and work with them throughout the year. 
5. Be a resident near or in Harlingen where travel to the park would not be a limiting factor. 
6. Be willing to follow volunteer-team-established protocol in Hugh Ramsey Nature Park.
