Electric Tram Tour

Location: Estero Llano Grande
Join us on a narrated ranger-driven, two-hour tour of the park in a quiet electric tram. Reservations required.
Especially for those that are less mobile (but open to everyone!), we offer the opportunity to tour the park in electric open Bird Buses. Estero Llano Grande was designed as a walking park, but hiking the trails has often been a hardship or impossible for some park guests. Now you can ride to most areas to see the birds, butterflies, dragonflies, alligators, frogs (and maybe even a bobcat) as well as the lakes, and the wonderful array of trees and shrubs that occur in the park. Great for an after-church outing!
Regular park admission applies – there is no extra charge for the Bird Bus tours. Reservations required.
More December events at Estero Llano Grande State Park can be found on the events listed at Friends of Estero Llano Grande State Park https://www.facebook.com/groups/foelgsp/events

The Science of Saw-whet Owls
The Northern Saw-whet Owl (Aegolius acadicus) is one of the most common, and most elusive, predators in our backyards. These diminutive birds of prey migrate by the thousands through New England each year on their way to milder wintering ranges in the southern Appalachians. Join Sean Beckett of the North Branch Nature Center— where researchers have captured and tagged over 600 migrating saw-whet owls in the last seven years — to discover what scientists are learning about the natural history and ecology of this adorable species, and where owls banded in Central Vermont have turned up around the country.
Closed captioning will be available.
